Folk culture festival held in Shinan

A folk culture festival was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, on Jan 17, which is the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month of the year and known as the Little New Year.
Red lanterns, "Fu" characters (representing happiness and good luck), couplets, pottery, and paper-cuttings helped create a festive atmosphere at the event.

The event also featured singing and dancing performances, which was expected to be held from 10:20 am to 11:30 am every day from Jan 17 to 21.
Gao Bo, deputy chairman of the Qingdao Calligraphers Association, took part in the festival and presented some of his impressive calligraphy works.
A total of 20 seniors who live alone were also invited to the event to spend the Little New Year together with other locals and volunteers. They were overjoyed to receive free dumplings from the volunteers.
