Shinan announces plans for livelihood-related projects

Shinan district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province announced 10 livelihood-related projects in 2020 on Jan 14, involving employment, housing, education, social security, senior care, and infrastructure.
A series of supporting policies for start-ups will be implemented to help relieve financial pressure on them. Around 50,000 job opportunities are expected to be created and the district also plans to support about 1,550 entrepreneurs who want to start businesses.
The district will complete the reconstruction of old buildings this year and promote external wall insulation for 143 residential buildings in old communities.
Two primary schools will be extended and one new primary school will start operation in 2020. Two preschools will also be established in the district. All of these are expected to benefit 2,800 children.
The standard of the urban minimum living guarantee will be raised to 700 yuan ($102) per capita every month, and the supporting system for people who have difficulties will be improved. Social supports have been encouraged to help ensure the basic living allowances for disabled people and residents with low income.
To promote the senior care system, five new senior care centers have been planned to be set up, which can benefit about 1,200 seniors in total. The district will also carry out more standardized management when storing, transporting, and using vaccines, guaranteeing their security and effectiveness.
In addition, supporting infrastructure will be upgraded and more will be set up in the district. Improvements on a total of 600 indoor and outdoor fitness facilities are planned, while more public toilets will be constructed at major squares and commercial centers.
