Children in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province participated in a woodworking activity on Dec 1, during which a teacher surnamed Gao taught them how to use a variety of woodworking tools.

Children were given the chance to design, cut, and polish their own woodworks, some of which were presented after the class was over.

Many children said they enjoyed the activity, as it required them to concentrate and think independently.

Many parents hoped that similar activities would be held in the future, as it teaches children traditional skills and forces them to think through problems by themselves.
