Dag Skansen, president of the Connect Vest in Norway, led a delegation to Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on Nov 16.
During the visit, a discussion was held on cooperation in modern information technology, the marine economy, saving energy, and environmental protection.
Dag said that Qingdao is a promising and attractive Chinese city, and that more Norwegian enterprises are expected to come to Shinan to develop long-term cooperation with the district.
In accordance with the Belt and Road Initiative, many countries in Northern Europe are increasing cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the marine engineering industry and a number of achievements have been made over the past several years.
Qingdao's industrial structure and orientation are similar to Norway's, creating strong potential for cooperation in marine science, shipbuilding, fishing, and environmental technology. Several Qingdao companies are already cooperating with Norwegian enterprises.
In addition, the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences plans to provide technological support to Norway's Shinan district industrial park.
The district also intends to promote cooperation and innovation in the marine engineering industry and will use the delegation's visit as an opportunity to develop cooperative relations with Bergen, Norway.
