A 10-day graduate camp was recently established at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology's (BIFT) fashion research institute in Shinan district, Qingdao. More than 80 BIFT postgraduates and tutors participated in the camp.

The camp was jointly promoted by the Shinan district government, the BIFT School of Art and Design, and BIFT's Qingdao research institute.

Yan Yan, deputy head of Shinan district, said that the district's landscape, which includes mountains, seas, islands, ports, and cities, makes it a unique place in Qingdao. The district helps showcase the city's history, culture, and fashion.

Shinan district aims to rely heavily on its fashion industry to develop into a modern international zone.

The new camp is expected to be a long-running project and contribute to the development of the city's fashion industry, said Che Fei, deputy dean of the School of Art and Design in BIFT.

The Qingdao research institute plans to cooperate with fashion design colleges in China and abroad to attract more talents and resources for the fashion industry.
