French film directors seek cooperation in Qingdao

More than 50 well-known Chinese and French film directors and actors attended the 2019 French Film Week, which was held at the 1907 Light and Shadow Club in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province from Oct 21 to 24.
French director Jean Jacques Annaud is famous in China for his films The Lover and Wolf Totem, both adapted from novels. He tends to integrate various cultures into his films and said he plans to produce more films in China.
"Qingdao is one of China's most beautiful cities and I hope to have a chance to make a film here," he said.

Philippe Muyl, another respected French director, is known in China for the film The Nightingale. He lived in China for an extended period of time while producing this film, which showcased China from a unique perspective.
During the filming process, he grew to love China and the Chinese people. He said that more cultural exchange and cooperation should be carried out between China and France, in addition to just films.
Qingdao hopes to use the film week to strengthen its film industry and make a name for itself in the international market.
