Built in the early twentieth century, Badaguan
Scenic Spot was formed in the 1930s through an ongoing construction program. It
is called "Badaguan" because its eight roads were named after Qingdao's
important roads (now it has ten, as another two roads were later built), and
they are Shaoguan Road, Ningwuguan Road, Zijingguan Road, Shanhaiguan Road,
Juyongguan Road, Linhuaiguan Road, Zhengyangguan Road, Hangguguan Road,
Jiayuguan Road and Wushengguan Road. These form the seaside scenic spot running
several kilometers along Huiquan Bay and Taiping Bay.
Known for its garden villas and Western-style buildings, Badaguan Scenic Spot has been termed a "world expo of architecture".
With its year-round blossoms and green leaves, it is perfect for sightseeing at any time, whether on foot or by car.
