Shinan district in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, arranged the first financial enterprises salon for this year at the Qingdao Capital Market Service Base on July 30.
Chen Jian, distinguished professor specializing in marketing at Scitae Business School, was invited to the salon to give a lecture on "financial engines to drive the value of private enterprises". Professor Chen shared his opinions on how to develop private enterprises, using the internet for business, and the opportunities and challenges created by a marine environment.
The salon, sponsored by the district's bureau in charge of financial supervision, has been held five times and has been committed to linking enterprises with the financial circle and creating a communication channel for information sharing and promoting cooperation between enterprises.
In recent years, Shinan district has taken a series of measures to promote the development of financial institutions and enterprises by releasing preferential policies, encouraging private equity fund investment, and supporting characteristic financial industries, such as scientific and technological finance and supply chain finance.
The district's efforts have achieved fruitful results, with the area now home to more than 1,200 financial enterprises, topping all the other districts in Qingdao. The number of financial institutions in the district accounts for about 60 percent of those in the city. In the first half of 2019, the added value of financial industries in Shinan district reached to 14.87 billion yuan ($2.14 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent.
The bureau plans to hold five financial salons in the second half of this year, in an effort to attract more financial institutions and enterprises to take part and so help to boost the development of economy.
