The Bajun Chamber Orchestra is composed of a group of highly skilled traditional Chinese music players. Those young players have pursued innovation to better preserve traditional Chinese music. Their performances at the concert gave the audience an audiovisual feast.
This classical art event, sponsored by Qingdao Taipingwan Wanbo Cultural Media Center, Qingdao Gudu International Hotel and Qingdao Haiyi Junzhuo Cultural Tourism Industrial Investment Co, was held at a 1,500-square-meter seaside courtyard at Taipingjiao.
In the courtyard stand two European-style villas which were built in 1930s and 1940s. One used to be the study of a famous Chinese scholar, Guo Moruo, and now houses a book bar, an art gallery, a teahouse, and other cultural projects. The other villa was the former site of the Belgian consulate and now its first floor is used for cultural exhibitions and its second floor is used for catering.
