The first China's New Smart City Construction Summit was held in Shinan district, Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on Nov 19, gathering experts from across the country to discuss smart city construction.

This year's event was held both online and offline, and focused on the latest development trends and innovative products of smart city construction. It also explored new development models of smart city construction.

An awards ceremony was also held during the event, and eight cases recommended by Shinan were honored for their innovative applications of smart city construction.

Shinan has in recent years been committed to the "Digital China", "Digital Shandong" and "Digital Qingdao" development plans and sped up its transformation into a new smart city.
