The "pre-confirmation of intellectual property Rights status to facilitate customs clearance of legitimate goods" innovative practice carried out by Qingdao Customs was listed among the first typical cases in the construction of a strong IP country, according to information released by China National Intellectual Property Administration.
Among 25 cases with outstanding results from a group of innovative cases in China, the Qingdao Customs' innovative practice was the only listed case in Shandong province.
The pre-confirmation of IPR status model is based on credit management, and pre-confirms the IPRs of import and export goods before declaration. The practice effectively enhances IPRs and facilitates trade clearance.
It is understood that the typical cases released focus on the innovative initiatives formed by various regions in the practice of promoting the construction of strong IPRs, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, geographical indications, new varieties of plants and trade secrets and other types of IPRs.
Qingdao is one of the first national IP demonstration cities, and this year was selected as a national IP construction demonstration city.
As of August this year, the city had 55,300 valid invention patents, or 54.93 per 10,000 people, and 410,000 valid registered trademarks, or 54 per 100 enterprises, all ranking first in the province.
