Seven companies from the coastal city of Qingdao – located in East China's Shandong province – were recently included in a list of demonstration pilots for the integration of new-generation information technology and manufacturing in 2022.
That's according to an announcement by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released on Oct 31.
Of the seven, three – Haier Smart Home Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China's home appliance giant Haier Group, Sailun Group Co Ltd and CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co Ltd – were recognized as digital pilot companies, among the first batch of 30 such ones recognized nationwide.
In addition, four industrial internet platforms recommended by the city were all selected as featured professional industrial internet platforms by the ministry. That brought the number to eight in Qingdao, which now accounts for nearly one third of the total in the province.
Over recent years, Qingdao has been promoting its digital sector based on the industrial internet, independently developing the country's first scenario-empowered public service platform, which helps increase efficiency for both enterprises and service providers.
Moreover, the city has cultivated a number of industry digital transformation benchmarks with strong technical strength, excellent business modes and governance and new management concepts.
The city has also identified 17 industrial internet platforms, 52 smart factories and 496 digital workshops and automated production line projects – laying a solid foundation for developing more digital pilot companies.
