Qingdao-based Haier Smart Home leads digital transformation

Haier Smart Home Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China's biggest home appliance manufacturer Haier Group – based in Qingdao city in East China's Shandong province – recently topped a national pilot and demonstrated list of "digital leaders".

The list was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Oct 31. It focused on the integration of information technology and the manufacturing industry and selected those  companies that came out on top in consideration of their technology, business, management and efficiency.

By capitalizing on information technologies, Haier Smart Home is said to have built a digital all-process operations system that covers the links of research and development, manufacturing, business, logistics, services, among other things. 

The digital R&D platform is said to have helped the company shorten its new product design time cycle by 30 percent. Haier Smart Home has won the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology for 16 items, ranking it first in the whole industry.

The digital manufacture platform helped improve the efficiency of intelligent manufacturing, purchases, supplies and logistics. The business platform improved user experience in the areas of purchases, use and services.

In the first three quarters of 2022, more than 32 million people have registered to be online customers of Haier Smart Home, a year-on-year increase of 64 percent. The digital transformation has also helped the company save overall costs, as its revenue and profit have both increased substantially this year.

In the era of the IoT, plans are for Haier Smart Home to speed up its operations to become a world-leading smart home brand and continuously provide a smart and better life for its customers.
