In the first three months of this year, the coastal city of Qingdao in Shandong province experienced a growth in the number of ocean tours, and its "Sea Tour Qingdao" tourism products saw 3,775 departures, carrying 108,000 tourists and generating total operating revenue of 3.63 million yuan ($501,083), representing a 384-percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Since the beginning of this year, the "Sea Tour Qingdao" tourism products, based on planned routes, have not only accelerated the pace of new launches but also increased efforts to benefit the public in cultural tourism, allowing more people to fully experience the unique travel experiences available right at their doorstep.
With the arrival of spring, the Qingdao Underwater World has launched a large number of parent-child trips. Qingdao Tourism Group opened a new sea route departing from the underwater world on March 14. This route passes through classic landmarks such as Xiaoqingdao Island and the century-old Zhanqiao Pier, providing an excellent route for enjoying the historical and cultural landscape of Qingdao from the sea. As of now, the sea route has served approximately 3,000 tourists.
The newly-launched "Sea Tour Qingdao" tourism products have become the preferred tourism experience in Qingdao. To welcome the peak tourism season, the city is actively promoting the standardized development of maritime tourism and planning for further improvements.
