A group of international journalists from countries including Italy, Argentina, Madagascar, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt visited Qingdao from March 20 to 22, where they explored the city's development of new quality productive forces, industrial transformation, and technological innovation.
On the first day of their trip, they visited the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, known as SCODA, in Jiaozhou, Qingdao, which is the only national-level platform for local economic and trade cooperation with SCO member countries.
The journalists also paid a visit to the Qingdao SCODA Pearl International Expo Center, which is an important platform for showcasing Qingdao's achievements in developing new quality productive forces. The center integrates exhibitions, commerce, tourism, and culture, and has become an important platform for Shandong and Qingdao to promote the in-depth integration of capital, technology, and talent between SCO member countries as well as countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
During their visit, the group members were impressed by local enterprises which are developing new quality productive forces, such as the Oriental Movie Metropolis and the Qingdao Bright Moon Seaweed Group.
The Oriental Movie Metropolis is the first large-scale film and television production base in China to be certified by British film studio Pinewood, and Qingdao Bright Moon Seaweed Group is the only high-tech enterprise globally with the technology to extract and prepare alginate medical dressings from seaweed.
