The AstraZeneca inhalation aerosol production and supply base located in Qingdao National High-tech Industrial Development Zone recently began construction, with over 30 workers operating four pile drivers.

Over 1,100 construction piles have already been completed, and the main structure is expected to be capped by the end of this year.

The base received a total investment of $700 million and covers an area of 5.33 hectares. It will primarily engage in the production and assembly of inhalation aerosol products, including medications for respiratory diseases.

The base represents a breakthrough in the construction of manufacturing projects by multinational pharmaceutical companies in Shandong province and contributes to the concurrent advancement of AstraZeneca's regional headquarters project in Qingdao, which is the first regional headquarters project of a multinational pharmaceutical company in Shandong.
