This marked the first import of Kenyan avocados at Qingdao port after China allowed the import of Kenyan avocados that meet relevant requirements in June 2022.

Avocados are widely planted in tropical Africa. They have high nutritional value and are rich in protein, vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, calcium, sodium, and other ingredients. They are high-energy and low-sugar fruits.

Qingdao Port is one of the vital fruit import ports in Shandong province. To ensure the smooth clearance of imported fresh fruits, Huangdao Customs has made good preparations to reduce customs clearance time and improve efficiency.

Huangdao Customs has recently taken measures to ensure the safety of imported food products. To streamline the process, they have created special channels for fresh and perishable goods and are conducting thorough inspections and clearance procedures upon arrival. This is a significant step towards ensuring the quality of food products for consumers in the region.

In the first five months of this year, Huangdao Customs supervised the import of 97,500 tons of various fruits.
