Laoshan district to become world tourism destination

Endowed with both sea and mountain views, Laoshan district in Qingdao, Shandong province aims to become a world tourism holiday destination, said local officials at a recent conference to promote the district's cultural and tourism development.
In the next three years, Laoshan will carry out specific measures in six areas such as upgrading tourism infrastructure, improving scenic spots, innovating new business forms and expanding marine tourism, to facilitate local tourism development.
Laoshan district is named after Laoshan Mountain, and it is also a coastal district since it is near the Yellow Sea. Visitors can easily be stunned by its distinctive culture resources, greenery, blue seas and azure sky.
Local tourism attractions, influence and competitiveness are expected to be enhanced by 2025, as Laoshan aims to receive more than 27 million tourists, with total tourism revenue exceeding 20 billion yuan ($2.76 billion).
A comprehensive online and offline service system of public consultation and tourism information will be built in Laoshan, as it plans to offer tourists "one-stop" services such as itinerary planning, online reservations, electronic explanations, tour guides, catering and shopping.
More marine tourism routes and products will be rolled out in Laoshan. It will accelerate the development of marine sports such as sailing, yachting, canoeing, diving, surfing, and water cycling, and will speed up the development of coastal marine tourism scenic spots. It is on course to set a model for offshore tourism.
