Guochao market shines at Qingdao beer festival
A guochao market which highlighted local cultural and creative products as well as traditional handicrafts was staged in Laoshan district during the celebration of the annual Qingdao International Beer Festival.
Twenty booths were set up in the market, displaying local intangible cultural heritage items such as Laoshan tea, cloth tigers, dough sculptures, tie-dye, and batik. Cultural and creative products with Laoshan features were also on display.
With the rise of the guochao trend, or the Chinese cultural tide, more local brands in Laoshan are weaving Chinese cultural elements into their design or branding, gaining popularity among customers.
The Laoshan venue for the beer festival, entitled "Dynamic Laoshan" Beer Carnival, is located in the Century Square Beer City. Performances, live converts, parades, drone shows and other activities have been held to attract more visitors.
