Jiaozhou has been striving to build the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area (SCODA) international super port, and professor Xie Yan from the China Society of Logistics presented an introduction of the port at the third Qingdao Multinationals Summit on June 21.

Jiaozhou, a county-level city in Qingdao, is home to the core area of SCODA. The city has a lengthy history and served as a significant trade port throughout the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Jiaozhou has established an intelligent management system that connects SCODA with airports, seaports, and railway stations, thus it is currently prepared to create the international super port.

The port would benefit from Qingdao's transportation ports, opening-up platform, national preferential policies for logistics hubs, and other advantages to enhance its capacity to organize the supply chain and distributing industrial chain and to become a center of factor resource allocation, modern industrial organization, and international supply chain services, as well as a comprehensive hub and strategic platform for high-quality development and high-level opening-up.

The construction of the port adheres to the green-development strategy and prioritized industrial development to boost the economy and city quality, and create a sound industrial and economic environment.

Enterprise representatives who attended the summit from Shandong Port Group, Shandong High-Speed Group, and Qingdao International Airport Group all expressed their confidence in Jiaozhou's development and pledged to expand their partnership with the city in the logistical, industrial, and financial sectors.
