Construction of a talent apartment project is progressing smoothly in the Sifanglu historical and cultural block in Shinan district, Qingdao.

Instead of constructing a new modern building, the district administration has decided to restore several courtyards built in the 1930s into low-rent public housing buildings, as part of its efforts to rejuvenate the historical site with more residents and industries.

"We have consulted many historical documents and original drawings of the building, aiming to reproduce the original architecture," said Gao Jianwei, manager of the project.

With a total floor area of 5,705 square meters, the project will offer 56 sets of apartments after being completed. These apartments will be equipped with new water, electricity, gas, sewage, heating and communication networks, and the lighting, roads and green space will also be improved with smart technologies.

Commercial services such as catering, shopping, and entertainment will also be provided to the block in order to create a dynamic youth community.
