Qingdao disinfects city buses

(chinadaily.com.cn) | 2020-10-13

More than 4,200 buses in Qingdao were disinfected on Oct 12 to ensure the safety of passengers.

The city's public transportation facilities have taken strict COVID-19 control measures, such as checking heath codes and temperatures, socially distancing, and requiring all passengers to wear masks.

According to city bus operator Jowin Group, workers will sterilize the buses regularly and make sure that they have adequate ventilation.

In recent days, 12 locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Qingdao, resulting in a prompt and comprehensive response that included citywide nucleic acid testing on all nine million of the city's residents.

The city's chest hospital has been placed on a strict lockdown, with 114,000 associated staff and patients having already tested negative by Oct 12.
