Qingdao named one of the most attractive city for foreigners
Qingdao, a coastal city in Shandong province, ranked 7th in a list of Top 10 Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners released at an international talent exchange conference held in Shenzhen on April 14.
This is the eighth time the city has won such honor, which indicates the optimization of the city's environment to attract talented foreign personnel.
The honor will encourage the city to work harder on talent attraction as well as the establishment of an open, modern, energetic and fashionable metropolis.
About 8,000 foreign talents work in Qingdao every year, among which 12 foreign experts won the Friendship Award granted by Chinese government, 42 got Qilu Friendship Award granted by Shandong provincial government, three received the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award, and 15 were appointed as specially-appointed expert by Qingdao government.
The city also built the first national demonstration zone for foreign talent attraction in North China.
The selection of the most attractive Chinese cities for foreigners is an annual event that started in 2010. The judges are composed of a group of foreign experts who have won Nobel Prize, Friendship Award, and other respective awards.
