On May 16, 77 well-known enterprises, including Starbucks and Haagen-Dazs, visited Blue Silicon Valley, in the north of Qingdao, to seek investment opportunities, qingdao.gov.cn reported.

Blue Silicon Valley plans to develop into an area with a population of 700,000 within ten years.

Currently, Blue Silicon Valley Core Area has attracted 12 national projects, eight colleges and over 150 innovation programs, totaling 170 billion yuan ($27.40 billion) of investment.

The national deep-sea base, marine laboratory and Shandong University (Qingdao) are expected to introduce 250,000 talented people.

The Blue Center in the Blue Silicon Valley Core Area, next to Shandong University (Qingdao), is inviting investment. It functions as a full-featured coastal ecological complex, integrating administrative services and business.

"The center has a favorable location. During the next five to ten years, it will be a good investment destination," said Zhang Qian, assistant to the CEO of the catering enterprise Liangyou, adding that Liangyou will investigate it in depth.
