Qingdao's unmanned helicopter takes off at air show

At the 10th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, there was applause for an unmanned helicopter from Qingdao, Shandong province, making its first appearance at the Nov 11-16 show, possibly China’s biggest aviation and defense products exhibition of the nation's latest aviation and defense developments.

The unmanned helicopter, a product of the Qingdao Hongbaichuan Metal Precision Product Co, has a parachute safety system that allows it to land safely in case of an accident, something that has not been available domestically.

China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, known as Airshow China, is held every two years in the southern port city of Zhuhai since 1996, which features new aircraft, trade talks and technological exchanges.
