Canadian economic delegation visiting Shandong City

Vice president of Nova Scotia Business Inc. in Nova Scotia, one of Canada's three maritime provinces, Peter MacAskill, headed a delegation on Nov 5th to pay a visit to the city of Qingdao, Shandong province. The delegation took part in the 19th China Fisheries & Seafood Exposition, Asia’s largest seafood show, held in Qingdao from Nov 5-7, 2014, and had in-depth talks with Ye Ming, the deputy director of Qingdao’s commerce bureau, on the economic and trade cooperation in marine science and technology, port logistics, and aquatic products.

Ye expressed her warm welcome to the Canadian delegation and painted a picture of the city’s economic development. She voiced a desire to establish an economic partnership with Nova Scotia on the basis of the memorandum of understanding with the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia signed in June 2013.
MacAskill said the two parties enjoy wider cooperative space for shipping, logistics, trade, exploitation of energy resources and marine science and technology and he will make efforts to facilitate the establishment of the economic partnership.
Nova Scotia Business Inc. is Nova Scotia’s private sector-led business development agency with the aim of helping companies enhance their competitiveness through trade development, business financing and venture capitals. It is also responsible for attracting new direct investments to the province, and driving the growth of Nova Scotia's economy.
