Volunteers clean hazardous algae washed up on the Zhan Bridge beach in Qingdao, Shandong province, on Jun 26, 2013. The city has removed 2,300 tons of such seaweed from its beaches since the plants started to proliferate on June 5. Residents and citizens joined the move to prevent the city's waters from causing a possible seaweed epidemic. [Photo by Huang Xianjie/Asianewsphoto] |
