Hundred-year-old British yacht moored in Qingdao

The British wooden yacht, Merrymaid arrived at the Olympic Sailing Center of Qingdao, East China's Shandong province on April 6.

Equipped with all indispensable devices for a long-distance voyage, the yacht is 34.1 meters in length and 5.44 meters in width. There were eight crewmembers on board from Britain, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Australia and China.

Built in 1904, the Merrymaid has been to the southern and the northern parts of America and is now conducting its Asian tour. During this time it will make visits to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tianjin and Qingdao.

The yacht will be heading for Inchon in South Korea for its next stopover.
