The number of weekly flights between the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao and Busan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), has been increased to meet growing demand, Qingdao airport authorities said on March 19.

Air Busan launched a new air service Monday, which will see a direct flight operating daily between the two cities, a spokesman with the Qingdao Liuting International Airport said.

That brings the total number of flights between Qingdao and Busan to 10 per week, up from three, the spokesman said.

"The opening of more flights will further facilitate trips between the two countries for business people and tourists," he said.
