In memory of the first generation of immigrants in Qingdao, a TV drama The Glorious Past of Qingdao will officially begin production in March 2012.

Aiming to present an overall review of the Qingdao ancestors' career-building path, producers and playwrights of the show have been conducting research on the city’s historical buildings, such as the Beer Museum, the Christian Church, and the Catholic Church.

The TV drama will contribute to Qingdao's cultural brand construction and promote the city's TV and movie industry.

Zhang Xinjian, director of the well-known TV series Chuang Guan Dong (meaning in Chinese, to explore Northeast China), will direct The Glorious Past of Qingdao. One of the nation's best actors, Lin Yongjian, along with a local Qingdao citizen is invited to play roles.
