The Fourth Conference of the OEAED (the Organization for East Asia Economic Development) will be held Nov 24 to Nov 26 in Qingdao, a coastal city in Eastern China’s Shandong province, local officials said Thursday.
The convention will include 150 participants from all 10 OEAED member cities: China’s Tianjin, Qingdao, Dalian and Yantai; Kitakyushu Shimonoseki Fukuoka of Japan, and Busan, Inchon, Ulsan of the Republic of Korea, according to Qingdao Assistant Mayor Wu Tiejun.
The meeting is expected to promote sub-regional cooperation among the cities, which all border the Yellow Sea, and also accelerate the FTA (Free Trade Area) process for the three countries, Wu told a press conference.
Mayors of the 10 cities and chairpersons of respective chambers of commerce will address the three-day event. They will communicate on such issues as manufacturing, environment, tourism and logistics sectors, and also sign "The Yellow Sea-Ring Action Memorandum” and “Qingdao Declaration”.
