2010 Qingdao International Maritime Festival to kick off in July

2010 Qingdao International Maritime Festival will be held at Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center from July 24 to August 29.

According to Zang Ai’min, chairman of the Organizing Committee, this year’s maritime festival will be held over two different stages. The first stage will be held from July 24 to August 9, while the second one from August 21 to 29. The first stage includes naval activities, marine tourism culture and marine sports. The second stage is International Sailing Week.

Colorful activities are going to be held during the Maritime Festival. “Cultural tourism activities will be held here, including military band performances, performances by Hai-Zheng Music and Dance Troupe, boat festival, a large wedding show, high-end island tour and cruises,” said Zhang Zhen’an, general manager of the Organizer, Qingdao City Investment Group. “ All kinds of marine sports will also be held, including Jonoon Cup sampan race, "Huntsman" the world’s old travel friendly volleyball games, jet skiing, water skiing and high-altitude diving performances, and Qingdao - Rizhao Sailing Rally,” Zhang said.

During International Sailing Week, there will also be many activities, including Olympic Sailing City Mayors Forum and International Sailing Summit, “Mayor Cup” Second Dalian - Qingdao International Yacht Rally, “Lushang Cup” 2010 Qingdao Internaitonal Yacht Race, “Jonoon Cup” 2010 International Yacht OP-level Training Camp and International OP-level Youth Tournament, and the Eighth China International Marine Fair as well as other sailing promotion activities.
