2010 China (Qingdao) Fashion Week kicks off

The 2010 China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week opened on May 5 in Qingdao, Shandong province.

The opening ceremony was attended by more than 600 Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce (Federation) presidents, famous entrepreneurs, international buyers and representatives from the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea and 16 other countries and regions, as well as Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Mainland provinces and cities.

Xia Geng, Mayor of Qingdao, said in his speech that China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week, after ten years of steady improvement, has become a leader of Chinese fashion trends, which boosts industrial development in the national fashion event.

According to the organizing committee, along with the 2010 China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week, the Qingdao Famous Products Fair, the world's Zhejiang Fair, will also be held from May 5 to 9 in Qingdao International Convention Center.

In addition to textiles and clothing, the Fashion Week will also feature food and beverages, household appliances, hardware, household items, jewelry, yachts and other industries. Fourteen information technology companies of Qingdao will have the first show in the exhibition to display products in the field of high-end information, including energy saving, environmental protection, and network technology.

In addition, the “Miss World” of 53 countries will be involved in more than ten cultural fashion performances during Fashion Week.

First organized in 2001, China (Qingdao) International Fashion Week has been successfully held nine times. This year’s International Fashion Week has the highest level, largest scale, richest content and most comprehensive strength ever.
