"Qingdao China, Sailing City" international website was launched

The international website of "Qingdao China, Sailing City," (http://qingdao.chinadaily.com.cn) was officially launched at 10am on April 23.

Wang Ximin, deputy editor of China Daily, Zhang Xingbo, president of China Daily website, Wang Wei, minister of Qingdao Publicity Department, and Lv Zhenyu, Vice Minister of Qingdao Publicity Department attended the opening ceremony.

Xia Geng, mayor of Qingdao said: "'Qingdao China, Sailing City' will help Qingdao communicate with the world and build a new bridge for sailing sports fans to communicate with each other."

Zhang Xingbo, president of China Daily website said: “China Daily prepared a strong team to work on this site. This website will be an international brand to introduce Qingdao to the world as a sailing city, and become an effective platform for international exchange and cooperation with Qingdao. ”

"Qingdao China, Sailing City" mainly reaches out to browsers overseas, especially those of English-speaking countries. It offers a wide range of colorful columns, including "sailing city,” “world connections," "marine economy,” “investment," "photos,” and “culture."

The site focuses on a combination of news, pictures, audio, video, and stories to provide users with a more colorful perspective of the amenities, facilities, and tourist attractions of Qingdao. For its news content, it will place particular priority on reporting big international activities, international sailing competitions, international communication, and special industrial park and tourism activities.

To achieve the best possible publicity, the website is also being promoted on a number of government-sponsored websites, including China Daily’s home page. More than 80 million people are expected to visit the site every year.
