Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd., its predecessor Nordic Brewery Co., Ltd and the first brewery plant established with European techniques in China in 1903, has now become a world famous producer of ‘Tsingtao Beer’ after over a century’s development. By now, Tsingtao Beer has ranked top 10 in the world brewery in terms of production and sales volumes, and been exported to over 50 countries and regions. In 2005, the company was successfully selected as the Official Sponsor of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd. was established and entered into international capital market in 1993, when it was the first Chinese joint stock limited company which listed in Hong Kong and Shanghai in the same time.
In the latter 1990’s, Tsingtao Brewery led the trend of M&A throughout the country. At present, the Company has almost completed the nationwide strategic layout with 50 breweries and 3 malting mills in 18 provinces, cities and autonomous regions and a sales network covering the whole country. In 2001, Tsingtao Brewery began to adjust its strategy from ‘to realize organic growth before being industrial leader’ to ‘to be industrial leader before realizing organic growth’, and maintained great achievements in system integration. In 2002, Tsingtao Brewery stepped on the path of internationalization of ‘win-win in competition and cooperation’ through establishing strategic alignment with Anheuser-Busch Companies from USA, and successfully entered the Taiwan market in the same year, which accelerated its process towards overseas expansion.
Tsingtao Brewery has now firmly established an all-round control platform over quality, environment, sanitation and safety among its peers, through obtaining verifications from ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, and HACCP. And ISO22000.
Tsingtao Brewery occupies a leading position in production scale and market share, and its brand has been valued at over RMB25.827 billion (Resource: World Brand Lab).
In the new century, Tsingtao Brewery determined its company goal of ‘becoming an international great company with brands of international influence’ and mission of ‘brewing consumer-favored beer with our passion, and creating happiness for life’.
