The China Unicom (Qingdao) Intelligent Computing Center DC1 has been added to the prestigious 2025 National Green Computing Facilities List. As the only facility in Shandong province to receive this honor, the center marks Qingdao's entry into the top tier of China's green computing infrastructure.

DC1 serves as a core node in China Unicom's national computing network and is located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. Built to the rigorous national Grade-A standard, it is the first large-scale data center in Shandong to achieve this high-level rating. The facility provides diverse services, including server hosting, cloud computing, and disaster recovery for government agencies and corporate clients.

The center's inclusion on the national list is due to its energy-saving technologies. By using hot aisle containment in the machine room, the facility optimizes its Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). The Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system uses a combination of horizontal air supply and natural cooling, allowing the center to operate on natural cooling for over half the year. Additionally, high-efficiency transformers and frequency conversion technology for cooling pumps and towers have reduced energy consumption by about 5 percent.

Operational efficiency is enhanced by an advanced infrastructure management system. This platform enables 3D-visualized maintenance and intelligent resource scheduling, ensuring high-performance computing with a minimal carbon footprint. Through these advancements, the center provides a sustainable model for the future of digital infrastructure in northern China.
