On the evening of Dec 31, the 2026 carnival consumption season began in the Qingdao West Coast New Area. During a dazzling light show and the cheers of over a thousand spectators, officials announced a comprehensive consumer season from Jan 1 to Mar 3. Built around five core pillars: festivals, competitions, exhibitions, performances, and commerce, the initiative aims to create a captivating New Year experience.

The campaign focuses on expanding domestic demand by blending public welfare with commercial promotion. By integrating diverse business formats, the area seeks to unlock consumption potential and establish a regional festival brand that sparks holiday enthusiasm.

The "festivals" segment features a huge New Year shopping fair across malls, hotels, and amusement parks, combining folk performances with agricultural sales.

Meanwhile, the "competitions" sector leverages high-profile IP, headlined by the 3rd Chen Meng Cup international youth table tennis tournament and a champion training camp for table tennis scheduled for late January to February.

Cultural diversity is the focus of the "exhibitions" and "performances" categories. Highlights include a trendy animation exhibition and traditional folk art displays for the Lantern Festival. Families can also enjoy parades at theme parks and special movie packages.

Finally, the "commerce" section synchronizes hotel and retail resources to offer snow-themed photo spots, Valentine's Day "confession plans", and Year of the Horse interactive toys.

These integrated promotions aim to build a comprehensive consumption landscape, ensuring the festive spirit drives sustainable market vitality throughout the winter season.
