Cangmashan Ski Resort ignites New Year spirit with snow carnival

chinadaily.com.cn| Updated: January 4, 2026

The Cangmashan Ski Resort in Qingdao West Coast New Area became a centerpiece of winter tourism as thousands of visitors gathered for a high-energy "ice and snow carnival" to welcome 2026. Under the theme "embrace in the snow", the event seamlessly integrated professional sports with immersive entertainment, establishing a vibrant "ice and snow +" model for the regional holiday market.

The celebration offered a non-stop transition from athleticism to artistry. On Dec 31, the resort extended its night skiing until 21:30, allowing enthusiasts to warm up on illuminated slopes. As night fell, the focus shifted to the adjacent main stage, where a stage featuring professional bands gave way to a pulsating electronic dance music (EDM) party led by renowned DJs. The festivities peaked at midnight with a breathtaking show of lasers, artificial snow, and a synchronized release of colorful balloons.

Beyond the countdown, the resort maximized the holiday experience through a diversified "1+N" ecosystem. Visitors were able to enjoy "micro-vacation" by combining skiing with trips to the local hot springs, stays in traditional Suzhou-style courtyards, and aerial tours via fixed-wing aircrafts. This integrated approach successfully transformed a single-sport outing into an enriching and multi-faceted cultural journey.

Now in its 11th year, the 120,000-square-meter resort continues to lead the industry with its professional trail network and high-capacity facilities. By hosting elite competitions and public activities, Cangmashan has evolved from a simple ski field into a comprehensive "winter home", consistently pushing the boundaries of outdoor lifestyle and seasonal tourism.
