Qingdao Langyatai Group has secured a new strategic platform in marine biotech with its "China Light Industry Marine Resources Exploration and Product Development Engineering Technology Center" now officially recognized as one of the Fourth Batch of Light Industry Engineering Technology Research Centers.

This national recognition adds to Langyatai Group's existing seven national R&D platforms, reinforcing its role in driving the marine bio-industry's high-quality development from the Qingdao West Coast New Area to a national level.

The center will focus on the high-value development of marine biological resources, aiming to address key technological challenges in the industrialization of precision nutrition and functional ingredients. Its mission includes shifting marine resource development from a raw material export model to one emphasizing technology and product export, thereby supporting the development of a national "blue granary".

Leveraging this platform, Langyatai Group plans to deepen R&D and pilot conversion in areas such as algae, sugars, peptides, and proteins, particularly for medical and special medical food applications, further strengthening scientific and technological support for China's marine bioeconomy.

The group intends to fully utilize the platform's strengths by deepening industry-academia-research collaboration with top institutions such as Ocean University of China and the Yantai Institute of Coastal Zone Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It will also strengthen cooperation across the industrial value chain. From technology and production to marketing, it will foster an integrated, open ecosystem for innovation and develop emerging fields such as synthetic biomedicine and functional foods.
