Qingdao WCNA facilitates construction of world's tallest bridge

With the hoisting of the final steel truss beam, the world's tallest bridge – the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou province, is complete. The ultra-high-strength cable steel developed by Qingdao Special Steel, a company in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), played a pivotal role in this achievement.

Qingdao Special Steel crafted a new generation of environmentally friendly ultra-high-strength bridge cable strands specifically for the bridge. Their exceptional strength and fatigue resistance ensure the bridge's safety and stability even in the harshest environments.

The bridge cables, forged from the strands developed by Qingdao Special Steel, boast an impressive strength of 1,960 megapascals, with each individual strand capable of withstanding immense tension. This design ensures the safety and stability of the bridge, even under demanding natural conditions and heavy traffic loads.

Furthermore, the superior plasticity of the strands significantly enhances the cables' fatigue resistance and service life, reducing maintenance costs and guaranteeing the bridge's long-term reliability.
