A weekend fair featuring articles for amusement on Mahao Cultural Street in Qingdao West Coast New Area will start on March 23.
Mahao Cultural Street is the top experiential cultural and leisure street in Qingdao West Coast New Area. The weekend fair featuring articles for amusement is held here every Sunday from 7 am to 12 am.
Special performances are scheduled to be held on the first day of the fair. A zhongruan (a plucked-string instrument) artist sporting sunglasses will grace the street and deliver innovative performances fusing zhongruan with electronic music. Traditional instruments are revitalized with a contemporary flair. Visitors can also expect live Chinese guqin (a seven-stringed zither) performances, which evoke an ancient charm and inner tranquility. NPC vendors in traditional attire will traverse the street selling quaint and nostalgic wares from their bamboo baskets.
Additionally, visitors can immerse themselves in a plethora of intangible cultural heritage items, such as embroidery, sugar painting and dough modeling, and experience firsthand the allure and warmth of traditional craftsmanship.

The fair also features live creations by expert calligraphers and painters. Visitors can acquire these original works on-site and bring home the artists' ingenuity and talent.
And of course, no fair featuring articles for amusement is complete without an array of antiques. Various vintage items are casually arranged at the stalls, with stall owners eagerly sharing the stories behind each collectible with interested passersby.
