The park is part of Qingdao WCNA's plan to create a novel urban ecological park city layout. The layout features the Tangdao Bay in the east and the Fenghe River estuary in the west.

Spanning 910 mu (60.67 hectares), the Fenghe Ecological Sports Park is Shandong province's largest and Qingdao's first-ever riverside and coastal ecological sports park.

The park will include a 7-kilometer circular jogging track, four standard basketball courts, two tennis courts, and two soccer fields, alongside a children's playground and spaces to exercise.

The park project will also include a fully buried sewage treatment plant with a daily processing capacity of 300,000 metric tons. Utilizing cutting-edge treatment methods, it will not only eliminate underground odors and noise but also autonomously irrigate the park's greenery.

This innovative approach will not only offer top-notch leisure and recreational facilities but also cater to the sewage treatment requirements of the surrounding 112 square kilometers.

"We have completed nearly 10,000 project piles, excavated close to 1.3 million cubic meters of earth, and completed nearly 70 percent of the underground engineering," said Zhao Shanquan, the project manager.
