The 11th National Ice and Snow Season - 2025 Shandong Province National Ski Challenge kicked off at the Cangma Mountain Ski Resort in Cangma town, Qingdao West Coast New Area, on Jan 11. Over 220 skiers from all over the country participated, adding youthful energy into the winter Cangma Mountain.

This national ski challenge is centered around winter sports, aiming to nurture new growth points in the winter sports economy, drive the development of the entire ice and snow culture, events, and the tourism industry.

In 2024, the Cangma Mountain Ski Resort underwent comprehensive upgrades, introducing a night skiing venue, a park skiing trail, an independent teaching trail, an S-shaped snow ring trail, and other four exclusive experiences for skiers.

The resort also innovatively created snow activities, offering leisure and entertainment projects such as snow tea parties, traditional Chinese snow shows, night skiing discos, and snowfield cafes, enriching the winter skiing experience at the resort and bringing a new skiing extravaganza to the general public.

Since mid-December when the Cangma Mountain Ski Resort opened, it has welcomed over 30,000 visitors, which is around 30 percent more than previous years.

To further explore the potential of the integration of sports and tourism industry in the off-season, the Qingdao Municipal Sports Bureau, in collaboration with nearly a hundred ice and snow venues, scenic spots, and merchants in the city, introduced over 200 preferential measures to encourage more people to participate in sports and fully enjoy the fun of winter sports.
