Qingdao West Coast New Area recently announced a comprehensive document detailing 17 measures aimed at supporting the growth of the port economy, with the ultimate goal of optimizing resource aggregation, increasing the prosperity of industrial ecosystems, and expanding the port economy.

The document, unveiled on Oct 30 at a conference on promoting the high-quality integrated development of ports, industries, and cities, focuses on three major areas: optimizing the business environment, strengthening the port economy, and advancing infrastructure construction.

Key measures include the implementation of convenient port customs services, "internet+" full-time efficient approval services, flexible law enforcement, credit identification, and prudent regulatory services.

It also encourages the introduction of professional shipping talent and the allocation of resources to key port and shipping projects.

In recent years, Qingdao West Coast New Area has collaborated with Qingdao Port, customs, and border inspection to streamline operational mechanisms, introducing 45 cargo supervision models and nearly 100 innovative measures.

These include smart customs and port inspection, transshipment consolidation, and multimodal transport, which have accelerated cargo customs clearance by 30 percent.

Qingdao Port has established the world's largest ore and crude oil terminals, a world-class grain terminal hub, and the country's first fully automated, integrated, and mechanized dry bulk smart green terminal, setting new world records for efficiency in both the loading and unloading of terminals.
