"It's so convenient! With just a few clicks on the WeChat official account, I can effortlessly manage my health records," said Wang, a resident of Yinzhu sub-district in Qingdao West Coast New Area.
Medical staff from the team of doctors in Yinzhu sub-district recently visited Wang, teaching her how to claim and access electronic health records on her phone. The simple and convenient process left a strong impression on her.
"The electronic health records are very convenient, safe, and offer real-time access. This not only makes it easier for residents to seek medical care but also allows us to provide them with better services," said Xu Xingqiang, deputy director of the Fenghe South Road Community Health Service Center.
By reviewing health records, local healthcare institutions can gain a thorough understanding of residents' health status, including test results, treatments, disease progression, and underlying factors. This enables a comprehensive evaluation of residents' health, guiding appropriate treatment measures and enhancing disease prevention and management, said Xu.
Since 2009, all permanent residents, regardless of age, have been receiving free preventive and chronic care services under the national Basic Public Health Services program. In Qingdao West Coast New Area, over 300,000 electronic health records have been set up, offering free health management services to 163,900 hypertension patients and 68,500 diabetes patients.
