Two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier vessels, Ferol and CESI Lianyungang, both from Australia, docked at the berths of Sinopec Tianranqi Company's Qingdao LNG terminal in the Dongjiakou Economic Zone on Feb 23.
A total of nearly 140,000 metric tons of LNG were unloaded from the vessels in Shandong province's first so-called "dual-ship dual-berth" unloading operation.
Sinopec Tianranqi Company's Qingdao LNG terminal, now the only operational LNG terminal in Shandong province, was Sinopec's initial foray into LNG terminal operations. It boasts an expanded unloading capacity of 11 million tons.
In its ten-year history, the Qingdao LNG terminal has handled the unloading of over 45 million tons of LNG, providing an annual natural gas supply capacity surpassing 16.5 billion cubic meters.
In 2023, the terminal unloaded an impressive 5.53 million tons of goods, placing it third in the country. With a daily average unloading volume surpassing 30,000 tons, the terminal has set a new efficiency benchmark for the nation.
