A cultural exchange event was held in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on Jan 9, aiming to boost relations between young people from Long Beach in the United States and Qingdao.
A group of students from California State University, Long Beach, joined students from Qingdao University of Technology to experience traditional Chinese culture through activities such as paper-cutting and traditional Chinese medicine.
Qingdao and Long Beach became sister cities in 1985 and have since engaged in extensive cooperation in fields such as trade, ports, education, and culture. This exchange activity was jointly launched by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and the Long Beach-Qingdao Sister City Committee with the aim of strengthening the friendship between the two cities and connecting young people from China and the US.
