The Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently announced the addition of eight new national 4A-grade tourist attractions.
Among them is the Qingdao Mingyue Seaweed World Scenic Area, which is situated in Qingdao's West Coast New Area near Lingshan Bay and Dazhu Mountain. It is the first seaweed-themed park in China.
Qingdao Mingyue Seaweed World has a multitude of attractions and amenities, including a seaweed technology museum, national key laboratories, hotels and restaurants where visitors can savor a wide range of dishes featuring seaweed.
The scenic area combines modern technology with historical culture, promotes marine science, and offers personalized health examinations.
The scenic area was named a national industrial tourism demonstration base in October this year.
