Seaweed-themed park chosen as national-level demonstration base

The Mingyue Seaweed World Scenic Area in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) was recently chosen as a national industrial tourism demonstration base for 2023.

Its selection was based on recommendations made by the cultural and tourism administrative departments of various regions and provinces, and the final selection was made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism according to national industry standards. 

Mingyue Seaweed World is themed around seaweed and has been given a national 3A-level rating. It has various functions such as intelligent industrial tourism, characteristic healthy cuisine, health and wellness vacations, study and exploration opportunities, and exhibition and conference facilities.

The scenic area is home to several notable facilities, including the China Seaweed Museum, the only national key laboratory for marine food processing and safety control in the industry, as well as national-level science education bases. It is also recognized as an industrial tourism demonstration base and a study and exploration base in Shandong province.

Mingyue Seaweed World has innovatively combined online and offline industrial tourism models. By integrating modern technology and historical culture, and marine science knowledges and internet of things technology, it has created an interactive tourism experience geared toward young people.
