Chinese Food Festival wraps up in WCNA

The 24th Chinese Food Festival and the 1st Chinese Ocean Food Culture Festival concluded in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA) on Oct 15.

The festival not only featured the 7th China Catering Industry Supply Chain Expo, but also showcased demonstrations by Shandong cuisine chefs and exhibitions of exemplary skills in the national hotel and catering industry.

The China Hospitality Association and Xinhua Net jointly released the 2023 National Catering Industry Report during the event. 

As the first Chinese Ocean Food Culture Festival, it highlighted Qingdao WCNA, Qingdao and Jiaodong catering by hosting ocean-themed banquets, exhibitions of ocean specialty foods and ingredients, exhibitions of China's landmark food and exhibitions of Shandong cuisine.

Featured agricultural products and intangible cultural heritage and ethnic cultural products from the new area, such as Baoshan blueberries, Mingyue apples and Longming beef, were showcased.

The China Hospitality Association has established a long-term cooperation agreement with Qingdao WCNA, and the Chinese Ocean Food Culture Festival will permanently set up operations in the new area. 

The event was held at the newly-inaugurated Qingdao Carnival Convention Center, which is expected to stimulate the exhibition economy in the area.
